ISA is committed to building an inclusive intellectual environment for experts involved in all aspects of the teaching, study, and professional practice of international affairs, including next-generation scholars and members from around the world. The ISA Annual Convention is one of our highlighted annual events and offers a welcoming professional space for all those involved in the study, research, teaching, and practice of international affairs. Thank you for joining us and we look forward to seeing you soon!
Please reach out to us (isa@isanet.org) if you're interested in leadership and service roles. We create a diverse pool of attendees and members that are willing to serve in these roles and we'd love to have your participation.
Presenter/Panelist

Checklist |
The primary role of the panelist is to carefully prepare, share, and present their research work (whether draft papers, essays in progress, content slides, discussion points, models, etc.) during their scheduled session. The goal is to create a dialogue between the presenter, fellow panelists, and audience, so presenters are encouraged not only to prepare their own presentations but review the work of their fellow panelists to help contribute to the overall discussion. The best panels are those where all participants are welcoming, supportive, and respectful of each others work and build a lively discussion that contributes to knowledge creation and networking.

Chair

Checklist |
A Chair's primary responsibility is to ensure a successful and smooth-functioning session, not only with regard to onsite participation but also coordination in advance of the Convention - among panelists, the Program Chairs, and ISA-HQ. Thank you for all the time you devote to ISA and your fellow panelists! Without you, the ISA Annual Convention would not be so distinctive, welcoming, and special.

Discussant

Checklist |
A Discussant's primary responsibility is to ensure a rich engagement with the intellectual work of panelists, providing thorough and constructive feedback of each panelists’ research essay, paper, or presentation submitted to the Discussant before the event. Thank you for all the time you devote to ISA and your fellow panelists! Without you, the ISA Annual Convention would not be so distinctive, welcoming, and special.

Attendees
Every participant at the ISA convention is an attendee, whether they are presenting, discussing, chairing, attending sessions and/or meetings, hosting exhibit hall booths, volunteering, and/or joining us for receptions or other ISA activities. The primary responsibilities of ISA attendees are to thoughtfully contribute to our community - in a welcoming and constructive manner - and to enjoy themselves.
